Hosting Multiplayer

Post by NY Cavalry »

I have it where I can host a game with myself. I no longer get an error message when I try to host, but I cannot bring any other players in the game. I set my numbers as instructed and when I check them again my computer has returned them to original settings, which is obtain an IP address automatically. Any thoughts?

You have to have a mapped port from your router to your computer. The game does try to do this for you automatically. But it does not work on every router.

So if they connect to your ip address on a certain port, the router will know to send those messages to your machine. Do you ever see them connect? Have you tried direct connect?

I finally got it working so I can host. The site "Portforward" helped but it wasn't completely accurate for my modem(?????). I'm in lobby now if anyone wants in a game.
