college building graphic question
I have my object quality on "best" and my object draw distance on "2000". When more than several hundred yards away from the college the roof/cupola of the largest building disappears. Just my system? Is this normal? 256M vid card, 3 MB ram. P4 2.8. Minor item, I know, but just curious.
You can get farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.

Re:college building graphic question
AJ, I have noticed several buildings appearing and/or disappearing as I approach/withdraw and have also presumed it to be a limitation of the graphics and/or computer capability. Hopefully, someone with a lot more "computerese" than I have will be able to explain.

Eric is the main man to explain this but it is to do with the LOD (level of detail). The models have less detail the further away the camera is to save memory. The appearing/disappearing is to do with your draw distance - experiment to find the best for you and your computer.
Re:college building graphic question
Is there a way to set the draw distance greater than 2000? i know my PC should handle better and would love to increase it more to find out. I've tried changing the INI files but to no effect.
Re:college building graphic question
The building LOD distances are not user adjustable. I have added this concept to the possible list of features to include in patch 2.
