Storm Of Pb & Fe, Scenario Redesign Needed

Sadly, this scenario is poorly designed. Two brigades, which in theory are under my command, are actually completely controlled by the AI. I read elsewhere that this is to simulate the events of July 1st. If that's the case, why not have the AI control all the units? That way I can just sit back and watch a recreation of history, since that seems to be the authors intent.
This idea of having some of the player's units controlled by the AI is very ill-conceived. If you don't want the player to use these units, don't pretend to give them to him and don't have their bumbling count against the player. As it is, I was so fustrated with this scenario, I shut the game down and went back to TC2M.
I don't know how many more of these scenarios exist besides this one and Buford, but this scheme needs to be exorcised in the next patch. Please fix this!

Or perhaps a timed release of those brigades to the commander, like in TC2M.

Well you pretty much said it best as "the brigade should have been left on AI control". You need to treat them like they are on AI control.. They were basically on their own in the real battle, and having them sort of half on ai/half off makes it more realistic in my opinion, like the stubbon man Oneal was.
But that's just my two cents.. To each his own. Someone will make a mod for that scenario where you have complete control of everyone (might even be me).
And don't worry, that and Buford are the only one's like it.

The background...
Doles was assigned to be watching the XI corps. O'neal was premature and launched his command early BEFORE Rodes could get them under control. To simulate this, I detached Doles and forced O'neal to attack. The object is to overcome this disadvantage and do the job. You will eventually be able to use them. This was not ill conceived, it was history. Not all events go as planned. If you had all your forces, you would wipe out Robinson easily.
When events like these are to occur, there is no easy way around it. I cannot remove them from your command then give them back. I just hope you read the message ang follow orders.

There is no such thing as a timed release of units in TC2M if the troops are on the map.
nor is there here. If they were not on the map, then the scenario would be fictional.
a catch 22. read the message and follow orders........

This was not ill conceived, it was history.
Then what's the point of the scenario? History already happened.

See my post about an extraordinary score in this.
I noticed O'Neal about to be bushwhacked from behind the stone wall, and TC'd his regiments right off, and directed them away to the south.
I disobeyed orders about keeping contact on my left, and took everyone to the "farm", flanked the Union out and took the 400 pt VP, and stayed there.
My score was 34,300 and some, which, as I said elsewhere, may mean a glitch in the scoring.
Any thoughts?
I see an intention to "fix" some of the scenarios. Which ones?
