Waiting to talk with McAfee by phone 8am CT to see about making an exception to blocking GB. There is a referrance by them to white listing SOW, hope it cures the problem.

You can reinstall to fix the problem. I do not have this, but I believe that they either disable or remove our work/scpwn32.dll, we can't run without all our files.

Their message is; You can ask to have McAfee to accept work/scpwn32.dll (or any program for that matter) and the message goes on to say you have the program white listed, whatever that means, however, if done right I would not have to ever reinstall the game cause of a McAfee scan. Unfortunatly, my custom machine was ordered through Dell, which meant I have to go through Dell McAfee instead of MaAfee itself, which has been a reason to take a big fat Vicadin and chill out. :P

You should be able to list is as an exception yourself. There has to be some sort of interface into the program. I know that someone else asked about this and I found a link to how to do this. It's not too hard, you just find their exception list, browse to the DLL and select it and add it to the list.

Talked with them a few minutes ago, waiting for e-mail from them to complete the process of exception of game, then I'll be able to reinstall GB.

I remember the conversation, I need to find the thread with that link you mentioned.

Of course the Dell McAfee people said they would take care of everything! They send an e-mail application for detecting viruses that's confusing too begin with, and nowhere does it mention giving a McFee exception list. Tipical passing the buck crap, Whoops the medication is starting to wear off.

That describes software to a tee. It does a ton for you, sets up everything, but if you want to deviate even a little from the norm, it's impossible unless your a compsci grad.

I sent an e-mail to the site listed for advice/help, a generated reply, said to put "nonauto" into subject area, did so, sent it back, still would not accept the request. Of course they close shop for the week at 4 o'clock, mon-fri it's now 3:46 fri, the whole day blown since early this morning. Don't even ask how I feel!

Have you tried following the instructions on that link for adding exceptions?

Was able to get back in touch with McAfee, they're sending another form different from the first, which requires a registration and more directions on how to do exceptions. Got my fingers crossed it will work.
