"Scourge of War has stopped working."

Game won't run. Keeps crashing. Hopefully we won't get any posts here, but if we do, we'll try to help you out. You can also post any bugs that you find here. IMPORTANT: Don't post mod related problems here!

Where did it stop working? Did you change something?

Hi AD

Stopped working very early in the game as I was moving Gordon's Brigade to support the artillery. Have changed nothing in the game other than type of cursor (as previously discussed). Did look at the file for "Battle 1, 2, 3" sounds but made no changes.

This is actually the 3rd time it has crashed, each with the employment of artillery. Otherwise, it is working superbly with no problems!

I did turn on autosave after the second creash so believe this morrning's crash is also saved. Will be happy to send it if someone will be kind enough to explain how.

Thanks

You can email any saved crashes to sowsupport at scourgeofwar dot com, you can also send your work/sowgb.log file

I would suggest a reinstall and to disable any mods/changes so that you can track down any differences.

Thanks, Norb.

Do not know how to email the saved game.

Do not know where to find the work/sowgb.log file.

Made no mods/changes other then changing cursor type.

Where did you install the game? If you accepted the default path:

c:\norbsoftdev\scourge of war - gettysburg\work\sowgb.log

that's what I mean by work\sowgb.log

saved games are in work\saved games

it's called _autosave

Do all games crash now? I assume they do since the title of the post is that it's stopped working. If it is completely disabled then hopefully your log will show something.

Thanks, Norb!

Have not played any games since this last one crashed this morning. But, the only three that have crashed all included an attempt to use artillery. However, have played infantry only games since the first/second arty games crashed and have had no problems.

I have the following: C:\NorbSoftDev\Scourge of War - Gettysburg\Work\Saved Games. I can find the saved game but do not know "what" to do with it; i.e. how to get you a copy.

First you have to do this after a crash when you have the autosave feature in the options enabled. If you start another game it will overwrite the first game.

Do you have the beta patch installed?

To send a file, just attach the file to your email. You can right click on it and go to send to -> compressed folder and then send that zip file. I'm no good at explaining this stuff, but you have to wait for another crash.

Have not played another game so it is still in the auto save file.

Have not installed any patches including the beta patch.
