Disappearing Cursor and CTDs

Hey folks!
I purchased the game this afternoon and have been playing ever since. Tons of fun, but I've run into a couple bugs that have been giving me issues.
One is a disappearing cursor in the Gettysburg Scenarios menu, followed by a CTD with the error: "CreateDevice Failed D3DERR_DeviceLost"
I've also had 4 CTD when gaming. The two scenarios I've been playing most are Buford and Meredith. I'm trying to come up with a save, but haven't been able to get a scenario going for a little while. But I'll figure something out.
I've also seen an error code runtime error C++, but don't know enough to make heads or tails of it.
Thanks, guys!
Cheers!
Gary

screenshots of the error dialog sometimes help. I hate crashes!!! I want them all cleaned up. But the only true way to get rid of them is for me to be able to recreate them.
A lot of times it is something that you are doing that we didn't think of, or that we don't regularly do. So what you need to do, if you choose to help us out here, is to find a consistent set of steps that will recreate the crash for you. Then we have a chance of getting it to happen for us. A saved game, certain clicks, keys, anything that makes it crash.

Activate quick save and then just go play, if it crashes, you can send the saved game with some notes on how exactly it took place and what you were doing when it happened. That surely helps a lot.

The D3DERR_DeviceLost issue is probably a DirectX problem. You should reinstall it.

Also make sure, that your graphic card drivers are up-to-date.
Do you have multi-monitor setup?

Thanks guys! I'll try to get you guys a screenshot of an error if it pops up again and set the game up for auto saves. It's a smart thing to do anyhow if but to prevent a nice score disappearing into the abyss. FYI, I played a couple sandbox battles last night and they seemed to go well, i.e., no CTD *knock on wood*. Perhaps that narrows the field a bit.
I just reinstalled DirectX and updated my graphics drivers. I will play this evening and report how everything went. I am not running dual monitors, but I am running dual GPUs in SLI if that makes a difference.
Thanks again, folks!

Just touching base. Since I updated the DirectX and my graphics drivers,I've played four scenarios and most of the issues seem to have vanished.
Will the cursor fix be in the next patch, norb? I had one cursor issue, but it is much more intermittent than before.
Cheers!

I have a fix in for the cursor issue and it fixed it for me but ADukes says that he still has problems. We'll keep working on it and it will be in the next patch.

Re: Cursor issue
Do you run the game in a lower resolution than your desktop resolution?

"Do you run the game in a lower resolution than your desktop resolution?"
Both are set a 1920x1080.
