My Purchase.

Hi.

Not that this actually matters to anyone else, I have just purchased SOW, and waiting for my activation code.

I hope I have done the right thing. I finally made the decision to purchase this title based on the promise that sometime in the future, Norb will be discontinuing the DRM activation.

What I am try to say is, that by purchasing this product, and type of DRM is in place will in the end greatly influence me in my future purchases. If everything goes well, I will be more prone to purchase such products, if things go very wrong, again it will influence my future purchases.

Anyway, I hope everything works well so I can spend hours enjoying a great title such as this, and through my purchase, I am supporting a development team which no doubt has worked countless hours to bring about another edition to this genre.

Thank you.

We really appreciate your vote of confidence. I know that you are very opposed to DRM, so I understand what this means to you. We won't let you down.

I still don't understand... when I moved to Milan I didn't have a connection but I needed one. I was not in my house so I couldn't make a contract to an ISP so I went down to buy a GSM internet connection. It's not as slow as I thought and it costs more or less 0.8 euro per hour of connection.

I don't know maybe Mike you don't have such option but in my case it did more than everything I had expected for a very reasonable price (i'm still and always on a laptop). I could deliver files, even big ones very easily. The connection is stable, I think I could also play Multiplayer but in case of the DRM protection, once you are connected and launch the game, the check is performed only once (right, Norb?) so there's no need anymore to remain connected.

I guess each game would cost you 0.000001c then. :)

IIRC some of the Steam-based games such as company of heroes also use this system of protection. I understand perfectly your concern and I actually share it. Why should I need a connection to play Single Player? Well... go ask the pirates who steal and hurt the gaming industry.

I believe if I didn't have a 10mbit connection as easy as drinking a coffee I would be thinking the same as you do, Mike... anyway welcome onboard I guess everyone's happy you joined in the end! :)
