Game Freeze at "Best" Uniform
Game runs fine for me, other than muted musket sounds, when uniforms are set to "High". When Uniforms are set to "Best" the game always freezes. Error message from Microsoft is:

Have you checked to see the memory usage during the game?
See if you can use the WinKey - and check it through the Taskbar , the best uniforms will use anywhere from 2.0 - 2.4 of memory.

It seems like it has to be a memory issue. You should post your work/sowgb.log file after a crash.

Played for a very short time (maybe 15 seconds)with uniforms set to "best". I was surprised looking at the log, as it didn't seem to show anything happening at all after I hit the space bar. Most other times, and there have been many, it does freeze within 5 seconds after the screen (the game) loads (there is always a loud "ping" sound).
Once, and only once, it played for some time at "best", I don't recall for sure if it froze that time or not, but I know I didn't finish the game, I had just got the game so was jumping around, not finishing games.
Just a reminder, the game runs fine with the uniforms set to "high". As always, thanks for your support!

The difference between best and high is more uniforms are loaded, so it takes more memory. If it crashes on best, then it's hitting the memory limit. Do you have the beta patch installed?

I did have it installed, it made no difference, it still froze with that.
It was not loaded at the time of this log, as I recall, as I keep having to reinstall the game everytime my McAfee runs a virus check.

This might help, I just shut down a program, to save on memory, and it played for about 30 seconds and then froze, but this time I got an error message from the Visual C++ Runtime Library.
Message: "This program has requested the Runtime teminate it in an unsual way". There, that must be helpful! 8^)
