Just bought the game yesterday and it's great! I'm glad to see a Gettysburg game made for the series and I like the built-in mod manager. Mods are the strong point of this series IMO.
I did notice though, some weird sound issues. When I run the game, the sound sounds like it's echoing, like there's reverb on it. I thought it was my sound card (Creative Sound Blaster 5.1), so I went into settings and turned the reverb setting all the way down. I still get the "echoing" sound.
Is this normal? Is it an issue that will be addressed in the patch?
Thanks for any help.

Re: Sound problem
Try again after disabling EAX and/or hardware acceleration in dxdiag.

Re: Sound problem
Thanks ADukes. That thread really helped. I was able to shut EAX off and everything is good now.

Edit: went back and loaded a saved game. Sound still OK.
I launched dxdiag and shut off all sound hardware acceleration but when I started up the game I had some weird hissing/popping so I went back and set the sound hardware acceleration to "Basic" and now all my sounds are great. Seems like I'm hearing things I haven't heard before (in a good way). So far I've only tried three games, but so far so good.Try again after disabling EAX and/or hardware acceleration in dxdiag.

You can get farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.
