OOB questions

Post by sweeteye »

For the last day or so I have been practicing creating OOBs. I have no problem getting an OOB to work that has one corp per side on it. When I try to add extra corps I get a CTD. I realize trying to explain how to set up OOBs could be difficult so I am not expecting an answer. Figured I would at least try though as I have been working on it all night and am not getting anywhere.

Just cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. All I am trying to do is take the brickyard scenario and make a confederate scenario playing as Lee. Works fine with one Corps per side. As soon as I try to add units in a different Corps I get the CTD. I have tried studying the layout of the Brickyard scenario.Perhaps when the SDK is released it will help to clarify setting up OOBs.

I notice one seemingly important element to the OOB layout.
The beginning of the following lines break off from the standard format.

x,OOB_C_AWGarber_Gun_3,2,1,3,2,4,3,8,0.611852,-0.790972,33424.20313,129963.5625,DRIL_Lvl6_Art_Line,15,6,9

OOB_C_WJReese,OOB_C_WJReese,2,1,3,5,7,0,0,0.856617,0.515953,11712.47168,61292.55078,DRIL_Lvl5_Art_Line,1,,

The x at the beginning of the line and OOB_C_WJReese repeating? What function do they perform and is there a particular sequence they must be used?

Right from the OOB file: Name,"User defined name, not used by the program, cannot be blank"

Thanks.... guess I should have known. Really trying hard to figure out why I cannot get the game to work when I add a second Corps to one side in an OOB. I have spent more than 12 hours trying to solve this. :X

Forgive me for my ignorance but I am not sure what CoC stands for? Are you refering to The Side Army Corps Division etc. numerals?

You could post one of your oobs and it probably wouldn't be hard to find the problem if there is one.

Thanks again.I will keep working with it.I am just using the Brickyard OOB just as it is originally. Making it a Confederate scenario. Just added the Seminary as an objective. If I cannot get it working tonight I will post the OOB.
