One on One MP

Hey, I was thinking about multiplayer. We have been thinking about it primarily in terms of teams. I suppose that for the bold and / or foolish one on one may be an option: e.g. Lee vs. Meade. If players are ranked, the top players as army commander playing one on one will be some seriously talented strategists and tacticians.

I'm not sure what you mean. I plan on playing 1 on 1 quite a bit.

I don't think there will be much else but one on one.

We mostly play 2 on 2 when we test MP and it works out well (although we've played 3 on 3 before). Usually I'll choose the army commander, and another tester will choose a div, core, or brigade (depends on the size of the OOB). 1 on 1 is fun as well and does force you to be a serious strategist and tactician. :)

Well up until TC2M came along ,my favorite game was Talonsofts Gettysburg. I always played against the computer. The one thing I liked the most was The game started out small with arrival times from different roads , with different size units. This made it so you gradually could handle the whole board with all the units gradually. I hope something simular will be with SOWGB. Will this be?

Interesting. From the discussions I was under the impression that we might have quite a few cames where we are playing together with using different corps, divisions, etc. (E.g. You with the 2nd, Joshua Chamberlain with 5th, etc., etc. against a collection of rebels. )

I agree, this makes battles lots of fun.

If you think about it, it is very difficult to plan a time that would work for all of us. Some of us live on the West Coast, others live on the East (4 hour difference!), and even farther away in Australia, Africa (sorry, I forgot which country), England, France...

It would be great if we could all get together, but it would be difficult for most of us to say, hey, next Tuesday, we'll play a 2 hour game.

Not happening to me, my schedual varies too much.

I'm sure others have similar problems.

You are right. Remember though, we are all on this forum before the game is even out. Once it is out, we will have a whole bunch of new friends here and people will probably settle into common playing times with other people who are generally free at those times. And... you can pop in whenever.

One on one works though - fighting against whoever happens to be there at the same time. I suppose it will be possible to chose Army, Corps, Division or maybe even brigade level if both players agree.

I don't believe that Norb has the function to be able to pop in and out whenever as of yet.

I hope he codes for that in the 1st Patch, that would be amazing!
