Supply

I don´t mean to bombard the dev team with questions so close to release, but I had a question/some ideas about supply.
My question is, is there anything different from Take Command in terms of supply/supply wagons?
The largest qualm I have with the system in the Manassas games is that you could run your wagon all over the place (through forests, troops, etc) and hide it close to your front lines. With multiplayer coming into play, supplies will be a major part I would imagine: supply wagons will be targeted by players.
This is great though, because in real life you did have to protect your supply line or risk being cutoff. It would be neat if the supply wagons were limited to roads only, un-TCable, fixed in the rear of the division, or something else. Not sure if this could be changed in a patch or a mod, but I´d love to see something to make the supply situation more realistic.
My ideal supply system would be a wagon in the rear, on a road, and your units would automatically resupply if they were 1) close to that road or any road connected to it, granted that it was not obstructed by the enemy or 2) next to a friendly unit which was linked to the road of supply either by being on it or next to another unit which was linked. This way, there would be a supply line which could be cut, or units could be surrounded and cut off from supplies by flank attacks.
That is probably far too much to ask, but I do think that it is realistic and feasible to confine the supply wagons to roads. IMO, this kind of supply system would add a lot to multiplayer gameplay. Any thoughts?
