Artillery (limber) related question
Just curious why the decision was made to not show the horses harnessed to the limbers when the guns are in battery. Another memory issue?
You can get farther with a kind word and a gun than you can with a kind word alone.

Not a memory issue, just one of those visual but not functional things that we have not gotten to so far. Not sure if we will get there for version 1.0, but changes to the artillery limber/unlimber will get done sooner or later.

Re:Artillery (limber) related question
I would imagine that there are literally hundreds of "things" that would be possible and great if time were not a problem.
For myself, I would love to see a 6-horse hitch pulling a gun, galloping across a meadow with a small dust storm...then hearing "Action, Front!" as they swing around, halt and unlimber with the "hitch" then moving to further to the rear and reversing to face to the front! Oh, aren't dreams wonderful! :woohoo:

Rising clouds of dust from marching troops and artillery would be great. Imagine looking down the road and seeing the rising dust cloud and not knowing if it's friend or foe coming up on your flank, like when the 6th Corps arrived at Gettysburg. Maybe an option you could select based on performance preferences.
Yes, it would be very interesting to peek at NSD's "wish list" for future features. However, I'm betting there are a few surprises they are holding back announcing for SOWG until game release or shortly before.
I see in one of the April screenshots the ordnance wagon has a six horse team. So, who knows, maybe that could be carried over to the limbers. Maybe someday caissions.I would imagine that there are literally hundreds of "things" that would be possible and great if time were not a problem.

Yes, indeed, John! Perhaps they could even included the drivers on each of the "near" horses! Wow, that would be impressive...and I am sure you are right...there must be "thousands" of hidden and unpublished nuances in the new game!Kerflumoxed wrote:I see in one of the April screenshots the ordnance wagon has a six horse team.
