Scourge of War Boards

The little village I live in, Rushville, is right between Lancaster(Sherman's birthplace) and Somerset(Sheridan's childhood home's).
For your enjoyment, are some pic's of the General's childhood homes.

Sherman


Driving east through Lancaster, on Main st., one can't help but see this;


Is Lancaster proud of him or what!


Right up the street, on the next block, is the Sherman House.






From this angle you can see the original structure.
The brick part was added in later years, as the family grew.




Inside the house is a fantastic museum.
But they don't allow anyone to take pictures inside.
I was very disappointed about that. Sorry fella's.

Here's a couple of views of Lancaster from Mt. Pleasant.






Then, off to Somerset. About 21miles east of Lancaster.

Sheridan


There is no Sheridan House in Somerset.
Some nice people in a coffee shop told me where to find the first, and second home's
the Sheridans lived in.
The first house doesn't even have a marker, and is currently occupied.
It's located on Sheridan ave. Go figure!


The second House does have a historical marker.









And in the center of Somerset, is a statue of Sheridan.
