This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.
Thanks. I'll give it a try. Never used the alpha-channel but had never done any of this other stuff either. I mean, how hard can it be? A few mouse clicks and you're done, right? 300 posts later...
Look at the bright side – you will be a Brigade Commander in no time.
Thanks, ADukes – but according to the statements \ comments – excellent program – but was never updated to work with Vista \ Windows 7 – I’m still running Vista.
I did find another way of viewing them but it is sort of slow – copy a readme to Desktop – and then just change the fonts one by one – viewing the text in the readme.
I seriously doubt that one font is ever going to please everybody, I need to get the best of about half a dozen and place them into separate mods – this way the player would just choose which one without the need to edit the files.
ADukes – Question – is there a limit on how many mods that the game will handle?

The only true logic is that, there is no true logic!

Boy, that's a loaded question. It reminds me of the line in "The Verdict" with Paul Newman when the jury foreman asks the judge if there's a limit on the amount of money they can award.

Hey, born2see - I'm taking a slight break away from the fonts, so I decided to mod the JumpMap the jump-map was originally done by Marching Thru Georgia if I remember correctly.

I personally like the idea of a modern JumpMap. I appreciate the historical reasons for including the stock one, but this is a game after all and I would like to know where "The Angle" is, for example. I know that, because I research every scenario before I play it, but others may not, plus it would be nice to have a modern reference in the heat of battle. I would also like to see something less cluttered so I could find units more easily. I believe someone has already requested a zoom feature. I admit I haven't explored all the map options available to me so maybe the clutter can be reduced currently. Anyway, I look forward to your efforts.

That looks really good! What resolution are you using that the toolbar is so small?

Are you going to work on this? I'd really like to see that one.

Neither version seems to be working correctly for me. The letter will only take up half the space it is supposed to, then the text will be written on the terrain. It also instantly starts up the game while the message is being read (as in, does not remain paused). I am running Bugles and Flags v7, but this problem occurs whether or not I am running it.
Try this. It's a little rough still but it works for me. And I believe you and I have the same problem. I don't think it will work with the B&F mod because RB has his own version of the Large Courier Screen and I think they'll conflict.
If you haven't been following the threads on this subject (and who would blame you!) this has the feature which toggles the Toolbar.
Let me know how it looks for you. If I can help, let me know. It's hard for Davinci to make adjustments because he doesn't have the same problems. Screenshots really help.

I've actually been following rather closely. I was just waiting until I saw something released to give it a try, but I imagine my laptop will be causing some issues with it due to the fact that it's bigger than the average laptop. I will give this a try and post screens for you.
