Norb/Team,
It is my sad duty to report, after all of yesterdays glorious combat, I have had no less then 4 CTDs in a row this morning. All happened roughly 5 minutes into the game. Nothing has changed or has been changed. They all were Sp Sandbox games, no-one being available in MP so far. I used both modded and stock Federal OOBs. All other mods were ones that have been in place for a long time. Yes, the latest patch is installed. Am going to reboot the comp and try again, this time with Reb OOBs. Will report back.

Hang in there, patch correction on the way...good testing so far. You Generals will be up and commanding as soon as possible.

Roger that, RB.
Game is now completely unplayable. 3 more CTDs today. Hoping the patch is the answer. Do not want to have to re-install game.

I have read with interest all this Ctd problems, why is it some people have this problem and some dont.
I have the new patch no problems with it at all, only improvements, I run windows 7 dont know if the Ctd's are Vista O/S only or if Windows 7 users get this too.

A lot of us are still running on XP or XP Pro. It is indeed very odd how it could change, literally overnight, for me.

Just ran an MP game that worked. Game ran for 55-60 minutes before CTD. So thats something. BTW, I played against the AI. No Human Commanders available at the time. Now, the question I have is this - did the latest patch come with new combat sound files? I seem to hear different rifle-musket sounds, ricochets and such. Anyway, at least I can play a version of MP.

To be honest, I have no idea what I did to makle it stop running, however, I have been able to get into the game in the past.

Yep, rewrite of the sound code. Same sounds, just adjusted to fix the random 'dropping out of sounds' for some folks. You may notice all the non gui sounds are louder, I had to adjust my mod to accommodate the bugle calls, they were swallowed up.
Your log shows nothing abnormal, but that's expected. Log files are not picking up the crashes, that's one of the reasons we thought the release was clean. Clean for some folks, but issues for others, the hardest bugs to track down.
Be patient, great patch with many new pluses, it'll be worth this little 'tense' time.
