Old_Message_Mod

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

This will allow for some fixes with the best fonts - could also be used to create \ add some artifacts as in the ink not being prefect.

Take note that the program is probably going to take a while to get used to, the letters sort of like waypoints - with the waypoints forming the letters, moving one waypoint can cause the letter to appear ackward.

I did crash one of the TTF files - my changes must have to too much for the program to handle. It is probably better to change one letter at a time, this way if something happens - didn't spend hours doing something with no positive result.

The beauty of this message is the font can look a little funky. It's something written in the heat of battle.

Here is a small edit that will slightly correct the three biggest problems with the font that we are using.

The letters d , l, o - the letter l is still slightly messed up, but I did correct the other two.

Name changed so it will not over-write the previous one of LDScript3

MsgFont,MsgFont,LDScript.pft,0.9,

Looks good. Can you fix that "3"? I can't help but focus on it when I look at the message.

Thanks

Hey, a strange thing just happened - with all of the various message mods that I have been working one, I still keep a sort of master mod that I always play on.

The problem appeared to be that the mods - that were not selected – seemed to be interfering with the master mod. I guess that I had too many with similar names, loading the same files.

At first I couldn’t put my finger on why the master mod was being over-ridden, especially considering that none of the other mods were selected.

So, I placed all of the other letter mod that I have been working on in one of my backup copies of the game.

Problem Solved!

Bottom line, there appears to be a small bug within the program – so remove all of the mods that you have been working on if they are very similar.

I don't have a three in the message that I use to test, so it might be fixed, might not!

Other letters that were slightly changed, f , s , S , I , b.

Check out this desk. Supposedly a reproduction of a campaign desk.

Yes, I meant to make a comment about that earlier, I was probably in the middle of multi-tasking something, do you have ownership of that desk?

No. I just did a search on Campaign Desks and this is the best I found. I think in the distant past some relative or friend of one had one which is how I knew there was such a thing.
