Thanks Davinci, that makes sense as you must have installed the matrix versions in order for the installer to work. But that your Ant probably wasn't working already anyway if you didn't install the matrix versions.

The patch won't install for me even though all my games are up to date.

The patch install says I have "unknown versions" of Gettysburg/Antietam.

I think I'll wait until this patch is patched.

The patch was tested by installing the versions from Matrix. No issues with any of them. Please check what you are running. The only people having errors are those that are trying to install over pre matrix versions of map packs. Which we have documented will not work with this patch.

After getting the same probs with the installer, I went to the Matrix board and installed the GB and Ant updates I had registered there.

The 1.06 patch worked fine after that. Took a bit of time to d/l the files though.
I did'nt realise the Matrix patches would be needed after patching the game originally from this board.

I can understand people's frustration with this.

I understand, but we did write it and warn about it. Unless you've installed the Matrix versions, the map packs don't work with 1.5 anyway. I'm surprised that more people haven't noticed.

A cursory look at the Antietam maps shows that many of the road problems were not fixed. That's very unfortunate.
The road problems were fixed. None of the issues that we have received from you are errors. I think we need to go over how roads work.

I would guess that the newer-members would follow the instructions to the letter pertaining to the patches, so they would probably be the ones that still play on the default maps.

The older-members would have already played on those maps and have moved on to the newer-maps.

This is probably why there are so many that haven't registered on the other forum, the maps that they were playing on, worked!

I don't think that I have played on any of the default maps in over a year.

I have just tested all of the available mods individually with version 1.6 and the only one that caused a crash on launching sandbox is 'Enhanced Artillery and Flank Fire'.

This is not to say of course that other mods might not cause problems later on during the course of the battle as various drills etc are called.

Boy, am I glad I invested a few shillings and repurchased the game and all the extensions from Matrix at the outset !

You did not have to repurchase the game. Part of our deal was that they would have to allow every single code that we had previously sold access to their site and patches. They understood the importance and agreed. So every code that people have can be registered on the Matrix site and you can get the current patches of the game and map packs.

Good point Davinci and I understand, but we have to work towards our base game and base packs. So people should either uninstall the packs or update them before installing the patch.
