Blue_Grey Mod version01 Beta Version!

This is where our experts try to teach you the very flexible modding system for our previous release - SOW Gettysburg and its add-ons. It's powerful, but dangerous. Post your tips and your questions.

Hi Davinci,

I am having a problem with your updated Mod. When the game loads and I hit the Spacebar to begin, I try to move around and I get that single system 'ding' in the background. As soon as the 'ding' sounds.
Yeah, I hate that sound, now that I have heard it so much!

Are you receiving any error's in the log file, that may help to pinpoint what is causing the crash?

Hey - I'm thinking that this whole process will probably have to be re-done, after I do a fresh install of the game. I'm confused why a lot of this is happening considering that I have been playing with these sprites for a while.

Ok, I did that, when I ran the game, the uniforms were the old basic mixed for the black hats. In other words, it had none of the new uniforms at all.

Just changed it back, and now the new uniforms show up.

None, the log file is clean with both versions..

The only difference I see, though it shouldn't matter since the game loads fine, is the spelling of the folders. The earlier version spelled _Gray and your latest version spelled it as _Grey....

I would just delete the drills file from the game; It should not stop any of the units from showing up, only change the way that they are in the formation.

I have just deleted my drills file, and I’m getting both sets of the iron brigade uniforms, and I still don’t see where the units are switching sprites.

Basically, I have some messed up files, and now I’m too confused to know which is which.

I’ll have to do a fresh install – and then try this again in the future!

Hey Chamberlain - do you remember if the supply wagon had horses, or mules when the game ran the first time?

My game is different from you guys, and I might have some of my files mixed up in this mod, due to the fact that I replaced the mules with horses.

Check the textures files within both folders, and see if one of them contains information about horses.

Drummerboy, and Chamberlain – I’m going to have to apologize to both of you for wasting a lot of your time today, but this project is going to have to be abandoned!

Now, that I think about it, I’m not completely sure if I’m using the first SKD files, or the second version of the SDK. This is probably why I can not duplicate the problem that you are having. I’m seeing one thing, and you are seeing something else.

It’s going to take me a few days to fix my files, and I probably will not get to the Mod until the weekend. So within a week I should have this solved.

It’s so simple that it’s almost impossible to mess up; I mean the game has been designed to do all of the work, and I still managed to screw this up!

If you keep the files contained in the Mod Section – play around with them for the next week, they shouldn’t affect anything else as long as they are within the mod folders.

No problem guy, i want to see this work, i think it`s a great idea. I don`t mind helping out when i can, so i`ll keep working with the files it has, and see what I can do with it. Good luck with it.

Hey Davinci,

No need to apologize buddy !!!!

;) ;)

No problem at all, definitely not a waste of my time...
I think you are doing a great job, as we all know what you have over at TC2M...
Take your time and I am sure you will find the answer.

I will keep working with it during the week too..
