marcus it bothered me that archers rgts, just routed so easliy being some of the most vertern troops in the conferate army . when i knw for a fact they wouldn't retreat that far or route that easy , but hey i didn't make the game. i gave the my obervation , but they say they know more about it than me. i mean how far do you think they're going to run, without shoes anyway , lol , but i know veteren trops like archers would regroups at least 3 maybe 4 times before they would just route completely. heres the thing about
the confederate soldiers, once their dander was up they weren't going to stop untill they were all dead or wounded, or they ran out of ammo and surrended picketts charge proves that.that most of the reason they lost the battle because they just didn't know when to stop. lee knew once his men were commited there was NO calling it off. lee knew he shouldn't have fought there. but thats were the union army was and his men would have been to confused if he called off the attack. it would have totally demoralized his army not to attack the union army there or anywhere. the 1st day went well, but then the union army was too scared as usual to move or know what to do, the union army won out of fear. confederate soldier knew their job and didn't need to be told what to do. but when the union army was still their the next day that just made the confederate soldier even more determend to beat the union army.even after picketts charge they were still wanting to keep attacking. after winning all the battle up to that point why would the possibly think they would lose. but lee had to tell his men when enough was enough. before they could realize that they had lost the battle . the confederate soldiers had finally tasted defeat and they were never the same afterwards. all this is just common sense
