Well, thanks, I guess....but should I be looking at something better or ??? I know that the final decision has to be mine, but I would hate like the blazes to make a purchase and then find out I was in error!:dry:

You don't need anything better, if anything you could probably go with something cheeper. I don't think you would be using the CrossfireX technology(unless you plan on running more than 1 ATI based card), so eliminating that would save you some money. But the i7 based MoBo are a little on the high side right now. You might want to hold off for a couple of months because the i5's and i3's(processors) are coming out and with that better pricing and better value for non-enthusiasts. Then again, as you said, it is your decision.B)

IMO -
Buy the best core 2 duo intel chip available, the i7 is too expensive and the quad is unnecessary
Make sure you get PCI Express on your MB
Buy the best video card (PCI Express) you can afford
Buy 3-4 GB of name brand ram

Right on Norb, my thoughts exactly. It's the only way to tell people you are kidding around, or being sarcastic. I even use them in emails at work. In outlook, if you type : ) without the space in between : and )a little smiley face pops up.. If you use Outlook 2003, try it out.. :laugh:

I just "sorta drifted" into using them the last couple of posts...then started thinking that I may be annoying some folks, which is not my goal. As you say, they do bring an emphasis that is unavailble otherwise...and, shucks, the lil' fellows are kind of cute!

Thanks Norb and "Esta". These are the "concretes" this old coach needs!

Now, will I be able to use TC2M with these specs and, if so, will it allow me all the bells and whistles as well? With my current system I have to "dumb down" the extra goodies and when there are a lot of "people", scenery, etc., they all do the Little Mac Stutter Step!
