Re: Game pauses every few seconds.....
I am not sure. I have re-installed twice now. I have win 7 compatibility mod on and admin ticked. Performance is the same no matter if its the highest setting or the lowest. Also the game needs 2GB memory free to run and I have 6GB free during the game. My Fps goes from 32-36 down to 1 or 2 in about half second cycles so it makes it unplayable.
Would opening a work ticket on Matrix be able to help?

Re: Game pauses every few seconds.....
I have the same issue with the new game.
Here's my computer info
CyberPower Computer specs
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-990X processor, 6 cores, 3.47GHz
Memory: 24 GB
Video Card: ASUS GeForce GTX 750Ti, 2GB memory
SSD: Corsair Force Series 3 SSD 240GB
Western Digital Black HD: 2 TB
Case: Sniper Black Edition
Power Supply: Commander 1200 Watts
Sound Card: Creative SoundBlaster Z, Model SB1500
Monitor: Samsung ViewSonic
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
UPDATE!
I will do more extensive testing tomorrow, but, after I went into Webroot and manipulated it to Accept the autorun and SOWWL.exe files, I was able to run Baudin's attack on Hougomont for some time with no lag problems.
I will do more extensive testing and report back.
Webroot is my AV and it has interfered with some games in the past.

Re: Game pauses every few seconds.....
Sadly I'm still getting the same problem. A real bitch as the game looks very cool.
I've stripped down the graphics to low, adjusted settings, updated drivers etc. No luck. I've attached a FRAPS video which shows the problem in action in a mild form. (sorry 105mb)

I'll attempt a re-install in the hope that fixes it but I'm puzzled.
D - thanks for the link, no joy.

Re: Game pauses every few seconds.....
Tracking the CPU % in the task manager, running the game not a full screen, do you see anomalies when the fps collapse? (a drop of % at example).

Re: Game pauses every few seconds.....
I ran the game like you said with the task manager running beside the game. I noticed no difference in "IN USE GB" and no change in "AVAILABLE GB" I did notice the Disk 0 (C) runs at 0-3% when game is running around 36 Fps and when it cycles down to 1 Fps the Disk 0(C) is at 35% This was the only noticeable change.
Re: Game pauses every few seconds.....
I just want to say, that is a glorious PC. I don't have anything else to add to the thread, but good luck. I'm sure you'll get it working perfectly soon.I have the same issue with the new game.

Re: Game pauses every few seconds.....
It can be anything, Davide...
Ranging from a multithreading dead-lock to some abnormal I/O activity or expensive dynamic memory allocation at runtime.
It might even be a CPU->GPU resource flushing bottleneck (like a misused dynamic texture or vertex buffer).
If I could reproduce that sudden but repeated lag, I think I might be able to spot the reasons by looking at PIX HUDs (has some good system-wise counters as well) or eventually XPerf from the Windows SDK (it shows some nice graphs and helps a lot identifying the problematic functions, memory leaks, etc. but I don't use it since a while). I don't have Intel VTune unluckily atm.
Let me know if you find the common conditions that make it appears.
Ciao.

Re: Game pauses every few seconds.....
Did you check if you're cores are all working during the game? or someone appears parked?
