I don't understand the deactivation thing myself, as deactivation write to a hidden folder and all the installers work on the registry. They have nothing to do with each other, but stranger things have happened. On Jim's machine we had a case where he had some reg keys hidden in another reg folder that the game was picking up rather than the ones mentioned. We had to search his registry and delete the other keys.

Thanks everyone for posting solutions. We didn't have a lot of time to test the patch, as we know everyone wanted it and you've been waiting long enough.

ok, solved;

1 - installed the patch again
2 - I didn't have installed again PC and AM packs like the first time, so the game appears at this point like they was not present
3 - I deleted the registry entry
4 - rerun the patch, this time it asked me the codes for the packs

I'm not going anywhere near this patch until I completely understand what I should do.

I'm not touching the registry - did that once a few years ago and it bit me.

I have Antietam and Pipe Creek add-ons. Can someone please give a clear accurate step-by-step solution preferably without the role-playing?

I'm with you. I was lucky enough to NOT realize the patch was out before I started reading all the posts. I will definitely wait until things have sorted themselves out before I install this patch. Also, I have to go and find all my damn launch codes for the add-ons and such. Oh well... :laugh:

Cleburne came up with a solution and it worked for me.

Have your Pipe Creek and Antietam codes ready. Do not try to update until you have those codes at the ready.

Deactivate your game.

Install patch and follow directions.

For me everything worked, Mods and add-ons.

This worked for me.

The main problem happens if you don't have the game installed in C: ; I suggest you to delete the registry entry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NorbSoftDev (XP) before start the patch because the patch create two entries one matrix and the other here, so if it find already the lines AM and PC here he don't ask to install them and don't create the lines under the matrix registry.

A this point you can launch the patch; is possible you cannot change the path from C: eventually install in C: and cut and copy in your game directory (you must re-set the original options in this case). At the end you can reinstall PC and Antietam original pack again (not necessary for the game only for reinsert Antietam background image on the game)

Fear not, a new update is due out later today. They have been informed of the Registry issue, hopefully this update will address that, so you won't have to risk getting bit... :woohoo:

I took a deep breath and followed your instructions NYC. It seems to have worked. I didn't deactivate my mods though when I did it. It doesn't seem to have hurt at all.
