Commandment #20:

Never reenforce failure. Failing this results in further failure.

Principle #21:

Timing of the supports is key. Oftentimes, an attack will run out of steam due to supports which are engaged too early or too late. There is no perfect time for the supports to march into the attack, the commander must have the intuition to put them in at the right time; when the addition of the supports starts the snowball rolling down the hill, driving the enemy into disarray.

Tip #22:

Attacking requires practice. There is no doubt that one of your attacks will be defeated.

Principle #23:

In war, the side that makes the most mistakes loses. Attacking is not a mistake, how you attacked can be.

Tip #24:

Each gun should target a specific unit to increase the effectiveness of the bombardment. Targets may need to be changed when the situation changes.

Rule of Thumb #25:

Double-quicking and charging are ineffective ways of attacking during the build-up stage. Both use up valuable energy that is needed for the firefight. Even if a charging unit manages to break an enemy one, the rest of defender's line is still intact, and the charge is a waste of men. Double-quicking and charging to keep momentum during the break-out phase will increase the chances of success.

It was a pleasure MP'ing with you last night Hancock. :)

I plan to make a game at least once a week to answer questions, address concerns etc. And more importantly to grab those log files for Norb when there are issues.
