A couple of question about he game scale:
First, will regiments and batteries occupy a realistic amount of frontage relative to the scale of the terrain?
Second, any thought on addressing the default rifle range, raising it a bit? Everything I have read indicates that ACW regiments often opened fire in excess of 200 yds, and firefights under 50 yards(which were somewhat common in TC2) seemed to generally be considered extremely close range for sustained combat by ACW regimental and brigade commanders.
Not meaning to "throw the proverbial monkey wrench" but a new book just published by the University Press of Kansas provides a new insight into the use of the rifle-muskets. According to a current review, "The convential view holds . . . (the rifle-musket) deepen(ed) their killing zone from 100 to 500 yards" while continuing to use the "outmoded linear tactics, dooming attacking troops to horrendous casualties."
Author Earl J. Hess contends that poor markmanship training "and the rifle-musket's parabolic arc actually made the weapon less deadly." Further, "After surveying twenty-four battles, Hess discovered that infantry's average firing range was ninety-four yards, which was no better than the old smoothbores."
Book is titles
The Rifle Musket in Civil War Combat. While this does not address the thread above, it might be considered for accuracy tables.
