I just fought a quick battle. Your hard work has paid off handsomely. I have one suggestion. The division line formations should to be changed so that the arty is in front of the infantry and the cavalry is behind. Also, I would bump up the canister effect. It was significantly degraded in the last patch. Just increase the 'Canister shot #' by 10-15 and it should perform properly.

Great job and many thanks for your hard work!
I can make this march and I will make Georgia howl.

Good input. I went through some testing with canister, and it varied alot, sometimes there were lots of casualties, sometimes not. I will keep that in mind.

I have not read all of this thread, so the answer to my question may be here somewhere. Here goes. When will a tool box be ready that gives us the command buttons to really make this have a Napoleonic feel for battle? Cavalry charges, forming square, cavalry reaction to cavalry charges, etc., etc.

Please pardon if this has already been answered. The troops look great!

Clio,

A lot of this has been hashed around a bit. A toobar is a major undertaking, probably by the likes of Brother Reb Bugler or Brother Davinci. I can see that being a far piece done the road. Most of the rest of it would require major reworking of the game engine itself, not to mention large coding changes. Squares can be formed manually at this point and they do function fairly decently. Please see the Download link thread for more information. Most of the other ideas will most likely have to wait a bit. I will be posting a photo of squares in action if I can manage to follow Brother Born2see' directions which he so graciously posted for me.
Enjoy the Mod!

Gunship,

Could you please let me know what source you're using for the OOBs for 1809? I'd like to construct another Corps for the French and would like to keep the numbers consistent with what you ahve already done. Thanks in advance.

Clio,

Just as an aside - have fought 2 major engagements where I was able to fight Cav to Cav at one point in each one. Cavalry will counter-charge if charged OR if the opposing side just gets too close. Made for some great combat.

As another aside - don't remember what patch it was but, THANKS to the Norb/Team for putting in what I call the "Ride them down" fix for Cavalry where they harry the fleeing enemy. It is GREAT in this Mod.

Also, Cavalry MUST be handled with care, just like back then, or it is blown and fades away, heavily suseptable to fresh cavalry charges.

The French OOBs I used "Armies on the Danube 1809" Eckmuhl numbers for Teugn-Hausen then looked up the officer casualties from Martinen's work, transcribed on napoleon-series.org, between Teugn-Hausen and Eckmuhl and using about 4 rank and file per officer wounded I subtracted these numbers to get actual Eckmuhl numbers.

The Austrian OOB I used the Aspern-Essling numbers again from Armies on the Danube. I then looked up the short regiment info/history on napoleon-series which sometimes gave numbers for the start-of-hostilies or casualties from Eckmuhl. In either case I used those plus a little guess work to get the numbers for Tuegn-Hausen and Eckmuhl. I also used Osprey books to get some of the more unique unit numbers like Archduke Charles' Legion.

There were so many numbers you will have to forgive me if I got some wrong. Armies on the Danube 1809 is a really good book. I borrowed it from my wargames club about 8 months ago and noted down all the OOBs, so glad I did that.

Brother Gun,

I don't think 99% of us care if you got anything wrong. This Mod is so cool I can barely stand it

Thanks for the info. I am going to start building Oudinot's 2nd. Corps tonight and tomorrow. Maybe just Thearreu's Division at first. Probably throw in a Light Cav Division, too, just for fun. Glad my research, (Armies on the Danube OOBs), came in handy. BTW, all changes are Mods of your original work. I just copy and change them to get more troops on the field. WHEN we get this set up for multipayer, we'll use your originals for starters. :)
