The Toolbar probably needs to be restructured for the Indians.
Given how long Martin has been working on this mod, I know he's covered that already... probably several times over ;)

So looking forward to this mod. A truly fantastic piece of work guys and a really great subject/historical event to cover :) Those sprites look incredible and looking forward to seeing a bit of Montana. :cheer: Zeke

PS - Just finished researching the nearby Adwalton Moor 1643 and Marsden Moor 1644 battlefields I'm praying that one day someone will get around to doing either the English Civil war or perhaps re-do the American war of independence (last attempt was good but just too buggy unfortunately) - OOBs ready for "SOWG-ing" B)

I would love this. The battles would be mere skirmishes compared to ACW standards, but that would be a good thing for many players. I've always wanted to make a Cowpens map, or Musgrove Mills--both battlefields practically in my back yard. :)

And those Cheyenne sprites look amazing! Excellent work..

Thanks to all for the comments. Martin is passionate about the Little Big Horn so it was nice to be able to add my bit. Mark's maps for LBH and the ACW mod are outstanding, you'll know fear when you come over a rise and see a war party 20 yards away.

I with you Zeke, I'd love to see an English Civil War mod, but I don't see how we can get the right formations or tactics for it to be accurate enough for us.

As for the American Revolution, I have an unfinished mod for WL which got pushed back when Martin lured me to LBH. Don't when I'll get it finished as committed to a couple of other projects now. Hers's some screens of the revolutionaries.

I've only the artillery and supply wagons to do. When I get back to it I'll get in touch, If that's ok, and we can share info.

Edit... Thanks LP, make those maps. :)

Plaudits for you Martin for a great idea for a mod - I think this will attract quite a few new players to the game.

I can attest after several test playings that Martin's LBH mod is a pretty cruel experience! He has rated the troop behaviours very close to what the revisionist history shows was probably the case so that US cavalry companies can be overwhelmed easily by mass Indian mounted or dismounted attacks if they get isolated. The US player(s) really need to keep concentrated and be co-ordinated. Doing a Custer and splitting your forces up into ever smaller battalions out of support of each other is asking for defeat.

The US forces also have large and very slow but vital ammunition mule trains to move about which hampers their ability to rapidly search the terrain for Indian villages. Cavalry companies will burn through their ammo at a frightening rate in combat and without pack mule resupply they can be in trouble so the US player is presented with a real dilemma of having to search for an Indian village or force while being tied down to a very slow moving pack train.

This mod works very much better in HITS mode. A raised camera viewpoint takes away almost all the fear and tension. In HITS mode it can be trouser-changingly exciting!
