Who are the gentlemen in the red uniforms?
I watched a program on BBC iplayer re the re enactment (made up of clips and reports) and the British infantry 33rd Yorkshire wore these white uniforms in camp so I think they are just the camp uniform fro British and Kings German/Hanover infantry?

I went in 2013 just before they re did Hougoumont. Will be interesting to see what it looks like now.

They've done some great work, saving this important structure for the future. It is a pity the 200 celebrations didn't allow some re-enactment combat around it, but I suppose it's too fragile for that.

More images are posted. These include pictures from La Ferme du Caillou or, as it's sometimes called, "Napoleon's Last Headquarters." From here he agonized about the coming battle and conducted the Council of War forcefully depicted in the movie "Waterloo" with Rod Steiger and Christopher Plummer.

Also now up are shots from Mont St. Jean and Lion's Mound area. From the top of the Mound I took a broad panorama stretching from La Haye Sainte to Hougoumont, and then attempted to tie in references to portions of Louis Dumoulin's massive 360 panoramic painting on display at the Visitor Center.

Again the close-up of the four 95th riflemen is my favourite. The faces speak volumes.

My collection of Hougoumont images is now posted to Flickr. Only a handful (La Haye Sainte, Plancenoit, and Wellington's HQ in Waterloo) remain. Whew!

What a sky the day you were at Plancenoit! Amazing blue. Very un-1815-ish.
