Will the artillery unit be selected, check LOS for targets, then click on target, let it rip? Will the artillery automaticlly go into cannister shot when target gets in range? One other-thing, Will it be only artillery on artillery, or artillery on any target, leaders perhaps, what would be eligible targets for selection?

I believe the answer is yes to all of your questions, except I'm not sure if you can target a leader. I would have to test that out, but maybe Jim or estabu can answer that one for you.

I have never tried selecting a commander to targer, lol!! I usually just select the unit. I will see if you can select a leader and get back to you. As far as my testing goes, you can select a specific unit, either artillery/infantry/cavalry and they will fire on that unit. It does go into canister when the unit gets in range, but I would like to see you be able to select a different ammunition type when you run out of canister, but I usually don't run out of canister!!

The reason I question leaders, is cuz a leader represents 10 men and five points, at least I think that's way it worked out in the past. Targeting leaders might change the way leaders are utilitized, meaning exposed to artillery fire if left on their own out in the open, like a scout.

I thought that a officer was worth one man?

Has there been any changes to the artillery cassions display window? I know this was discussed before last year, now sounds like things have changed (for the better). The issue I'm bringing up is, "Will the game clock keep running while you are trying to assess cassion supplies?" The artillery icon might show for instance, half or less supplies in the cannonball, however you might be completely out of cannister or solid shot for that matter. To compound this with checking
100 odd guns can be time consuming loss of game clock time. It's not easy to
click on and read those windows at a glance, then
click close, to absorb the information without losing focus of the game. Some might say it's micro managing, which is true, until a player has problems with why they can;t understand why their artillary units don't do what they want them to do. Personally, I gave up on using the cassion window in TC2M.
What I was wondering is there a chance of having just the artillery units' cassion display window show on the game screen by passing the curser over a unit, without having a click fest. Something on that idea. If I'm wasting your time, just tell me!
I'll hate ya, but I'll get over it.

When you look at Your OOB in TC2M, the first troop tally is under your army leader, the next troop tally for corp commander will be ten men less than army leader.

You will not be able to target a leader, only a regiment or battery. The artillery displays are not final so no valid answers exist to the other questions.

I'll support you in whatever targting concept you do in this game system. I feel somewhat apprehensive about change, but I would'nt be against a better quality game.

Hoistingman brings up a valid point about artillery resupply. It was an excruciating task trying to manually get the supply wagons to match the artillery figures in TCSM, time that could have better used on managing the battle itself. Oh, and the fact that you would run out of cannister for one gun and not to be able to borrow from other guns in the same battery was amazing. I would like artillery resupply to be able to be done on the battery level. The option of using short fused shrapnel for cannister situations should also be allowed.
