In central Jersey it's been all and all a beautiful summer. A few weeks of too hot, some heavy rain, but for the most part the days have been beautiful. It's a wonderful 84 right now, not too humid (well for east coasters anyway), we just had rain yesterday so everything is green and the sun is shining.
I have a friend, who's also from New Jersey, and she always raves about East Coast weather. It's hard for me to imagine rain in August but after living in the hell hole of the California Central Valley for a couple of years I'd love it. :P

Humidity! Ack!!! As I've said before, give me the hot, dry, High Desert! There's nothing quite like a summertime desert sunset. :)

New Zealand. You're very fortunate. If I was going to leave the US, that's where I'd go.

I'm in North Florida and though we've had two pleasant days, around 95 it has been hot 101,102. With the humidity it felt much worse. Two nights of sitting on the back porch listening to the quiet has been nice.

I have some friends who were full-time RV'ers and they liked the humid nights. Something about the dampness making everything smell good (I guess that depends where you are). We only get that in early Fall when the first rains come.

It's hot in Texas. I've been watching the news. Not to let you Texans out do us in the Golden State, the last two years we've had about 40 days of temps over a hundred each year and about the same humidity as you but I think you got us this year.

PS: Ben Bernanke better not show his face down there, at least while you have the current governor.

Low 90's in Southeast NC. Cooled off a bit from the 100+ degree days we were having a for the last couple weeks. Humidity adds that little extra to make it interesting.

Still prefer the winters here compared to the ones growing up in South Central PA.
