Anybody that's played MP games knows Norb is right. Instead of taking the hit to their precious "stats" and perceived "uber-ness" they just drop from the game.

Instead of Norb taking up his time writing that code you as the player could always rout your own troops of the board or do a suicide attack to finish things off.

Why would I want to kill off my troops? That is just plain evil! Like this:

You will not be able to join a game in session, but you can leave. Once you are out, you're out. Right now it's too much a chore to get you synced back up, another feature for another version.

That's okay. We can wait...and if we can't, we'll feed you to the sharks:)

Any word yet on how many people will be able to sync up? I thought you said at least 3 at one point, but any definitive word yet?

Won't know until we test, but I plan on setting it as high as makes sense. If it works for 3, it will work for 10 probably.

That's sounding pretty darn good there.;)

Why can't we get a jump in type of multi game. People won't be happy, and less games will be bought, if you don't include the bells and whistles. I could easily wait for all the bells and whistles, and the publicity would be much better. The question is if you want to spend the time and money...

Something to consider, norb.

I would much prefer knowing whom I'm playing against at the start. People jumping in and out (at least when concerning this game style medium) would be quite annoying.

It's fine for MP FPS games.....but this is a whole different ballgame of strategy and tactics.

Either you're in......or you're out.

What about people that need to jump in while the game is going, because of a lenghty appointment and such.

It would give a good variance.

You could have a courier come up and say that JC Edwards has joined the game, his troops were sighted and such and such...

OH, that gives me a good idea. At first, there is one vs. one, then as players join they fill in the rest of the spots, and add in new spots as they go. So people that are major can command an army or corps, and brigadiers can control brigades or divisions, and colonels can only control brigades (or regiments). You have a first combat test and rank the people, then you assign them a spot, and they can be promoted or demoted according to their combat skills. How do you all like that idea?
