Only if you're 'The Duke of Wellington's' ghost and have the entire Prussian Army of ghosts at your disposal!
But then again the ghost of Napoleon could call Ghost Busters!

The minimap has actually been extracted from a period map of the battlefield area. The amount of info/icons *may* vary as a function of difficulty level. At grog for example there would be no icons at all, just the map. This is still in flux so definite answers are not available as yet.
Players (grogs and non-grogs alike) will need to keep in mind that GPS wasn't available back then... when you're measuring distance by how many steps your horse takes, things aren't going to perfectly match up everywhere.
your brigade might be on one side of a road/stream and the map sez otherwise...

This would be historically correct. Unless a unit is in direct sight of a commander, the exact location may not be known, only an approximate location. And that information could get out of date if a subordinate commander moves a unit that is out of sight of the superior officer and the subordinate officer doesn't send a courrier to inform his superior officer of the move. Even then it would depend on the contents of the message.
"General Howard,
General Barlow sends his compliments and begs to report he will advance his division to the vicinity of the Almshouse on the north side of town."
When is he planning to advance? Is he there already? Is the division north, south, east, west, or centered on the Almshouse complex? Is Barlow'division covering the plain north of town or is he covering the approach from York? How is he deployed?
It seems there is a balance of the quantity and quality of information that should be displayed on the map and still maintain the fog of war.

Yep, with TC2M, part of the 'fog of war' are those enemy last position ?'s when viewing the map. Sometimes a ? won't show a regiment's name but its Commander's name instead. Just like hunting quail, it takes a line formation to flush em out. Sometimes they're no where near that ?. Maybe the new game could incorporate hound dogs!
Its gonna be interesting how the new game handles all this differently or if at all.
If i had to choose only one map improvement in the new game, i'd be a full screen map.
In addition, enemy units will occassionally disappear from the battlefield in the open out of the woods albeit its rare but does happen. Still kon't know if its a bug or designed-in but since i've been playing the game on my new PC, i've noticed that a lot lot less.
Another unrelated thing i noticed playing TC2M on my new PC, is the ease at which artillery re-supplies now

. Before with my old PC, i'd have to coax artillery to re-supply sometimes having to sit the wagon on the gun's flag for a few seconds. Now they always resupply instantly and with the wagon galloping a few yards away. With so much computer processing going on during a medium to large battle, i think slower PCs might skip a frame or two and/or miss a resupply interupt now and then.
When is a bug a bug or just a 'relative' PC related pseudo bug?

I hope my clunker will run this game right. It normally runs most games well, but Fredricksburg...
