Players (grogs and non-grogs alike) will need to keep in mind that GPS wasn't available back then... when you're measuring distance by how many steps your horse takes, things aren't going to perfectly match up everywhere. The minimap has actually been extracted from a period map of the battlefield area. The amount of info/icons *may* vary as a function of difficulty level. At grog for example there would be no icons at all, just the map. This is still in flux so definite answers are not available as yet.

your brigade might be on one side of a road/stream and the map sez otherwise...
This would be historically correct. Unless a unit is in direct sight of a commander, the exact location may not be known, only an approximate location. And that information could get out of date if a subordinate commander moves a unit that is out of sight of the superior officer and the subordinate officer doesn't send a courrier to inform his superior officer of the move. Even then it would depend on the contents of the message.your brigade might be on one side of a road/stream and the map sez otherwise...
Yep, with TC2M, part of the 'fog of war' are those enemy last position ?'s when viewing the map. Sometimes a ? won't show a regiment's name but its Commander's name instead. Just like hunting quail, it takes a line formation to flush em out. Sometimes they're no where near that ?. Maybe the new game could incorporate hound dogs!:laugh:This would be historically correct.
