Is your internet connection active when you try to activate? Do you have any kind of virus scanner running when you try to activate? The latest version of the installer fixes problems with virus scanners.. So did you use the latest installer when you re-installed?

That most likely is your anti-virus program preventing the game from contacting the server. You are probably using AVG. You will have to shut down the AV program while you activate the program.

Yes on all accounts!!!I think, I will double check. I have windows 7 and microsoft antiviruse which I turned off when trying to activate the game and I turn the firewall off as well I also re installed game version1.1 from scourge site and still nothing.
Just Recieved from support that my antiviruse has marked as a viruse and need to post as a exception how do I do this not sure?

I am not familiar with microsoft AV, but like all AVs you will have to use msconfig to turn off all the services connected to it. Most likely, there will be several under the Services tab and at least one under the Startup tab. I'm sure you can find an article describing the procedure with google.

an update of your anti virus software has flaged SOWGB's SCPWIN32.dll file as bad software and the game can not contact the registration server.

In order to avoid this issue do the following:

1. add the DLL file as an exception to your virus software
2. send the file to your virus vendor to get whitelisted
3. turn off your virus software when you play the game

If you don't know how to add it as an exception, post your virus software type on the forum and I'm sure someone that also has it will help you.

I have reset you activation code and so you should be able to use it again.

Well after all day of trail and error I again uninstalled then re installed this time it game up without activation number so I entered it and it worked so far so good, THANKS GUYS for your help even though I am not sure what I did or what worked I tryed everthing I could as you told me to........ Again THANKS not sure what happened!

So where is it failing.. Where are you having a problem. Still can't activate?

I did get it to activate somehow not sure how.

Awesome. We'll have manual activation soon and that can overcome any connection problems.
