Thank you ten times over for this mod. Maybe the developer will learn that it should have been an available option from the get go and include it in any future releases. The free scenario choice has made a great game even better.
You're very welcome.
I like that it's an option though.. If you want the challenge of having to unlock the scenario's while factoring in carryover, then you play the stock scenario's. But if you'd rather jump right to all of the scenario's, you can always grab the mod. And I'm sure it'll be the same case in future releases.

I like the vanilla game's winning restriction and carryover into the next battle. It reminds me of the enjoyable various battle path options featured in the old SMG.
If I capture artillery in a battle to be carried forward, is the captured artillery reflected in any manner in the subsequent battle; i.e. do you get to keep the guns?

Nope. The only thing you get to keep is the memory of the thrill of capture.

 Okie Dokie - guess I can live with that.
In the subsequent battle in TC2M, my boys rejoined the same regiment that had captured the arty in the previous battle; or, it might have been just some of the boys. I'm not quite sure, which is probably because of the drunk we'd put on celebrating the return of our heroes. I would assume this has remained the same with SOWGB.

I'd like to play the Antietam scenarios in Sandbox (as I understand it, I could then be a fairly lowly commander in a big part of the battle).
Is this do-able (I could face some file wrangling, if necessary)?
Or is a mod to do this likely?
Thanks in advance,
Jeff

If you were playing scenarios in Sandbox, then it wouldn't be a scenario. Sandbox randomizes the troop positions etc. What you're talking about is a custom scenario. Creating a custom scenario for Antietam wouldn't be possible unless we released an SDK for it. Well it actually is possible by dumping a scenario.csv, then creating the other appropriate files etc. If you really want to go this route, it will get pretty complicated and there's a learning curve. But I'll be willing to help if you decide to dive into this.

Thanks Little Powell, and sorry for the confused question.
To re-jig my question, does the Historical Scenarios Mod allow me to do what I was trying to describe, but for Gettysburg? ie, take part in a large part of the battle (army vs army, or corps vs corps), set up in their historical starting points, and just be in command of a brigade or division? Or is this impossible?
Re creating Antietam custom scenarios, I don't think I'm anywhere near prepared to do modding - I'll stick to trying to get beaten less comprehensively when fighting scenarios. Thanks very much for the offer of help though.
Thanks again,
Jeff

Play the MP scenarios in offline mode.
Could you tell me how to do this?
I'm not seeing how
Thankyou,
Jeff

MP -> Host -> Scenario Game -> Select Scenario -> Set Scenario -> Select Commander -> Set Officer -> Launch
