It isn't. There are many more with the same concept. Also, why should it be different from this scenario to all the other scenarios?
If so, I did not notice. Like I said before; I had no reason to backcheck values of an OJT, if not noted in the scenario notes.BOSTON wrote:It isn't. There are many more with the same concept. Also, why should it be different from this scenario to all the other scenarios?
On pages 100 and 101 of the GB game manual there is no mention of changing values of an OJT during game play. We, that are reading this thread are aware of this variation, but those new to the game would be unaware of this nuance to the game. :ohmy:ADukes wrote:If so, I did not notice. It's all up to the scenario designer. I have created scenario's before with point changes.. This isn't the only nuance that isn't explained in the manual.. If you think something is a bug, you come here and report it. And after a while, the forum will be filled with all of the nuances.BOSTON wrote:On pages 100 and 101 of the GB game manual there is no mention of changing values of an OJT during game play. Yes the points change, but the concept stays the same.. Get to your OBJ's as quick as you can, and hold them for as long as you can, while killing as many bad guys as you can...
You need to download the patch my friend. The points were set obscenely high in the vanilla release of the game (13k) and the patch makes the scenario winnable."I was curious and I went back and played this scenario, taking note of the point changes. Not to gloat, but I got a 4,800 Major Victory."
Is something wrong with my version? I can get 4,800 easily as well - but my scenario notes say I need 13,000 to earn a Major Victory - and 4,800 equates to defeat.
13,000 feels darned near impossible no matter what I do. You have to parcel out enough forces to activate the Objective countdowns at LRT, BRT, DD, and in the Wheatfield to have any chance - and do so for each as quickly as possible. Thanks to the arty in position, it takes me usually 2 brigades to take Devils Den. LRT and BRT are walkovers, but the Wheatfield gets tricky, as McClaws' units can come in and pirate away some of your points by holding the objectives further up the line.
Highest I've got was about mid 5,000 range - and as far as I could tell the Federals in the area were annhilated (had driven from initial positions, and then held off a pair of counter attacks aimed at LRT and the Wheatfield).
