John,
Interesting. I look forward to seeing the results of your efforts.
I will keep you VERY much in the loop, and will welcome your suggestions. This way we could add any options that may exist in New engine. (nothing worse than writing something that is obsolete) (at your convienience of course)
Mark

I like the idea of a time-delay between giving orders, being delivered, and then being executed.
It will be hard to get the right balance between action and inaction. I've played some sailing games where that is done -- very painfully.

Here's another \"wishlist\" idea...
What about expanding the concept of a \"meeting engagement\" to allow objectives/orders to be assigneed prior to seeing troops on the map?

Or better yet, No map that shows units that are \"out of site\" from the commander.

Wrangler, as you know I am one of the biggest fans of your \"in the Saddle\" mods of the TC2M game and would love something that develops that concept even more. Oh, and of course multi-player. Another thing I would like to see if you are planning a long term tactical game is to allow the player to start at one rank and then move up in rank. Start me out as a regimental commander in charge of 10 companies and then (if I do well) move me up to bgde and so on. If I remember correctly this was an idea at the beginning of MMG but it is impossible with a game focusing on one battle.
