I am rewriting the entire engine, switching the graphics engine and adding multiplayer required major work. Since I designed the modding interface for the other games, I don't think that it will be too different. I know that they won't be directly portable, but it may be just a matter of some changes.

Any chance of getting infantry squares in? As a napoleonic wars fan, they'd really make an addition imho.

Also, will it contain the same number of army structure levels (army/corps/division/brigade/regiment) or will a company level be included (to throw out skirmishers or order the grenadiers to charge?

cheers
B

All I can say about that is that there is hope for your requests :) We have not released a final feature list so I'm not at a point where I'm willing to divulge exactly what features will be in the game. When we do reach our Alpha phase and have decided on the final features, your questions should be answered.

I am just bumping this in case there is any more info on multiplayer. As far as we know it will be a P2P system(IP address). What about problems with people connecting and not getting through firewalls? I have no idea about that stuff, will the game get through firewalls or will they need to be turned off?

Is there a number set on how many people will be able to play multiplayer?

Has the team decided on what each person will be able to control(only a division, brigade, or just click and "Take Command" like in SMG)?

I understand you might not be able to answer some of these questions but just getting a little more curious.

I can't really think of any more questions at the moment....

The server will have to either turn off their firewall or map a port. All other players should be ok. I am using a feature of routers that should get around firewalls.

There is no max set yet, but we have done no testing on that.

Each person can control whatever they want, just like openplay.

Haven't run it in a long time, hope it still works!
