I think you will find, once you start playing MP there will be two groups: Those that play mostly 1v1 and those who play mostly 2v2 and up games.

Funny, but I have found during my many years playing MP online with other games such as the TW series, the best teams do not normally consist of the best 1v1 players. Some 1v1 players can or do become good team players, but most have a different mind-set while playing. In games where teamwork counts (flanking, double-teaming etc . .) your best teams are those which consist of players who are willing to sacrifice their success to help a teammate quickly kill off their immediate enemy. Hopefully, Scourge's MP awards good teamwork. From what I have read thus far, it does.

I can't wait.

Yes, the teamwork should be fantastic - total unrealistical to what actually happened in the Civil War. Slocum could actually arrive in time on Day 1!

But with a name like "SLOWcum" what would you have expected? Should have recruited a Captain Quickly or someone with a much faster-sounding name.

You sound like a perfect match for the gallant Federal side! I would be honored to serve with you, even if we lose. In fact, we might lose because we are reading your requests for reinforcements that are so funny we fall out of our chairs and have to go to the hospital for a case of laughing.

I like to start my MP games out by typing . . . "HELP" . . "I NEED REINFORCEMENTS QUICK" . . . "THEY'VE TAKEN MY GUNS!" . . . "NEED COVER ON LEFT FLANK!" . . and other such things, just to save myself having to type them once the game starts.

It's just a matter for my teammates to put them in the precise order, to know what, where, and when to send a few troops to help me out.

I would love to team up with you. My teammates find I am a great excuse for them losing . . . "We would have won, but we had UglyElmo on our side!" If you win, then you can brag "We won even with UglyElmo on our side!" . . . A Win/Win situation for my teammates I tell ya. :)

Ha! Funny stuff.

It sounds like some twisted refrigerator magnet poem. Except this one has words like: help, support, dire, collapsing, retreat, etc, etc.

Maybe we can play each other sometime and see who can retreat off the map faster ;)

I have actually heard Germans in the 11th Corps saying something to the effect of "Fights mit Sigel, Runs mit UglyElmo."

I like your win-win approach for your teammates. It sounds like a good value proposition.

Its a win win situation because we get to read your messages, then if we lose, it will be worth it by just reading your messages.

If we win, I don't expect any messages from you.

See, its a win, because we get funny messages, and if we win, well, we win!

Gentlemen (and Ladies, if they're out there),

Garnier and I have played many,(heavily modded), MP AC - Divided Nation games together, w/ many people from different parts of the planet. A group like us here should have no real problem getting together for a game. We've played w/ as many as 7 people at one time. The Hawkes/Masters of the Field Group uses yahoo messenger to coordinate this. It has worked really well. We will make this happen, if we want to.

Your Servant,

(assuming someone got the message - LOL :) )

Most of my online experience comes from the Greatest Battles series of napoleonic games (Austerlitz and Waterloo) One thing that really helped those games was having a dedicated place where you could log in and chat with other gamers, form up ad hoc teams and play games. Will this game have such a place?
