Hey norb can you guys when you release the game have a file that has maps that show the troop positions and things throughout each day. Here an example the 1st Day you have a map with all of Buford's Regiments positions then you add the Infantry Positions (By regiment to the map and you do this through all of the three days of the battle since I plan when I do the Scenarios is to play like how it all went out then I will play again but that time I would make the right dissions and so on.

I'm not sure if anything like that will be included with the game, but since the troop placements are historically accurate, you could just look up the maps online (wikipedia etc.). I've done this once or twice to verify the placements while scenario testing. :)

A great source of Gettysburg maps can be found in Volume III of Battles and Leaders, either the reprint or the original edition. (The latter would be easier to use as it is a larger format.) This four volume set is "... for the most part contributions by Union and Confederate officers" and was originally published as The Century War Series" and first published in the "The Century Magazine in serial form. However, some caution is advised as the authors were not bi-partisan in their opinions and rendering of facts.

For the reprint, I have had to take the maps and enlarge them on a copier, which works just fine! The maps are quite detailed; for example, Map 1 shows the positions of the opposing forces on June 3rd near Aquia Creek; Map 2, June 6, disposition of the ANV with Longstreet east of Culpepper, Ewell between Culpeper and Fredricksburg, and Hill at Fredricksburg; etc., culminating with Map 15 showing the positions of both armies circa 6 P.M., July 1st. Maps 16 through 18 show the 2nd day with Maps 19 and 20 showing the 3rd day's cavalry action.

Hope this helps.

Two other good sources are 'The Maps of Gettysburg' by Bradley Gottfried and/or 'The Complete Gettysburg Guide' by J David Petruzzi & Steven Stanley. The Gottfried book was a primary source for fine details of mapping and of historical unit positioning.

I is a good idea, but I think that people would be able to find better resources on their own than the ones that we could provide. Maybe we could do something after the release, but it's doubtful that anything could be done before then.
