There is no way to write in your own now. But you can mod the order and information list.
Speaking for myself, that will allow me to send a message a lot faster than I could write it under fire.

So how many pre-written messages do you have so far?

There are alot of different messages, I would guess(didn't actually count them) about 30 or 40, depending on if you want the person to move/attack/support.

Even up to 30 is a giant leap from the 4 basic messages there are in TC2M's Open Play!

The messages are designed to be assembled from components. At each level you have selectable options or phrases to go into the message. You can combine multiple items in a single message. When we have the design and messages through the basic testing, we will provide a more concrete description and example. The message components are in a csv file and can be changed as part of a mod.

Actually, that was a pretty good description, in that I understand the basic idea of it now. Thanks Jim!

Will there be any difference in the levels or components, of the courier messages, between multi-player and single-player?

Another cool thing is that I designed the mp component of this so that if you have specific messages that you like and you decide to mod your courier messages file, it will work in MP!

So if you put a message in your file:
Go ahead 200 yards, then come back and then go again :)

And you use it in MP, it will work and get sent. So there really is no limit.

I think that how well this courier system works will determine how much icing there is going to be on the cake. This could be great!!

Will we be able to pull up past Courier messages to reread, and if so, will we have to access the message as we currently do in TC2M ?

In TC2M, you have highlight the message you want to read and 'Click' the checkmark to open it.

It would be a big plus to just Double Click the message, you want to read.

Thanks

I don't think that we have double clicks in the gui yet. I don't think we will, but that's a great wish list item. We will have the same list of received messages.
