end of game stats

Post by leeds85 »

hi all

I have a suggestion for the way the stats come up at the end of the game.
In tc2m sometimes i just want to see how the all the regiments scored and compared with each other (in order) regardless of what brigade, division or corp they are in. Likewise with divisons and brigades across different corps too.

example of what i mean could be i.e.

Grade
190 Heth's 4th Brigade (Hill's 2nd Div)
81 Hood's 2nd Brigade (Longstreet's 3rd Div)
and so on.......

or
59 4th Alabama (Hood's Brig)
32 5th Virgina (Stuart's Brig)
and so on.......

To do this in tc2m i have to go up and down the order of battle and remember the scores, which takes the fun out of things. Also could the fields for organising the table be changed too, so if i wanted to change from the table being in order of grade to order of men remaining or deaths whatever, i'm thinking along the lines of the way an excel spreedsheet works. Would this be possible?

I'm confused. I've never noticed that before. Usually, when I see the scores, they are kept within division, and so on.

I do a lot of stats in my day job and this is exactly where I wanted to go. At some point there will be a real stats package, with reports and spreadsheets. I don't know when that will happen, but that's where I see it going too. I really love stats and would love to have a breakdown. That's why I put in the detail that we have, but I know that it's hard to follow on those screens.

I would love to have a break down of the actual troops that have been involved in the fighting.

Sort of when reading a after battle report….. General Meade had eighty thousand troops on the field, but only managed to get fifty thousand involved in the fighting.

The only true logic is that, there is no true logic!

I have all the information in there, I just have to get it presented.

I think stats are interesting and I like going through some of the hard fighting regiments in the reports at the end of TC2M. I don't care so much about the grade as I do how many losses they took and inflicted and with which enemy units they did so.

I also like the simple summary stats that were given at the end of Sid Meier's Gettysburg! I forget what the were. Something like hardest fighting unit, most effective unit, most effective brigade or something like that. Being a strong Unionist, I was always disappointed when one of the coveted three spots went to the other side.

The one stat I'd like to see is just a simple break down of casualties at something other than the regimental reason. In TC2M it just gives raw casualties at the brigade level and above. I'd like to see killed, wounded, and missing at the upper levels also.
