Ok that diagram got a little messed up but what I am saying is is it possible to have two armies on one side with corps in it that wasn't avalible in tc
I think I know what you are saying, but you might not have it worded just right.

In one (?) of those Eastern Tenn. battles there were elements from 3 Union armies, Army of the Cumberland, Army of Ohio, Army of the Tenn., some grouping like that, all with their own army commanders. The only reason I remember that is from HPS Chikamauga game. It's been awhile, so I might not be totally accurate, but close.

As far as I know there was only one army commander on either side in GB, If the Army of the Cumberland came a knockin at Lee's back door at GB, that would be a different story and a What-if? at that.

The other thing is, to What would be gained by making a Corp commander an Army commander of an unchanged Corp? Why not detach a Corp and leave it at that? How many Army commanders were there by war's end?

Actually, Chattanooga works out pretty well in the TC2M command structure. The divisions were scrambled between the "armies" by the time the shooting started. IIRC, I only had to drop Granger and Howard from their corp commands, and they were non-factors in the battle.

That is possible, we have added an extra level of command so it is currently labeled:

Side
Army
Corps
etc...

We are thinking about using the Army level as Wing (aka Grand Division) and so to have two GB union corps vs one CS GB corps. One of the Union corps COs would get a second 'hat' as wing CO and command both his and the other corps.

Is it possible to attach batteries to brigades, and etc? That would add an astounding function for a beginning war part. As in:

Army/Corps, Division, Brigade, Regiment/Battery, Regiment/Gun
2,1,1,0,0, Garnett
2,1,1,1,0, 2nd VA
2,1,1,2,0, 4th VA
2,1,1,3,0, 5th VA
2,1,1,4,0, 27th VA
2,1,1,5,0, 33rd VA
2,1,1,6,0, Rockbridge Art.
2,1,1,6,1, Gun 1
2,1,1,6,2, Gun 2...
