Somehow I've lost my couriers. How are they enabled?

I'm guessing you changed the difficulty setting.

Somehow I've lost my couriers. How are they enabled?
Couriers are determined by difficulty setting. The higher the difficulty, the lower down the chain of command they are implemented.

However, what I do when I want to use couriers at all levels of command is go to custom difficulty set AI aggressiveness to 0, AI morale to 0, and regiment strength to 100%(These are the default historical/normal values.) Then on the right side for the courier settings, set it to "brigade"(the lowest level of command in this game) and couriers will be used for all levels of command for brigade and above.

Somehow the level for couriers was changed. I just reinstalled GB and WL on a new computer. Maybe that was the cause.
