I'm using Bugles and Flags XVI. I can't seem to use the Take Command control correctly. All subordinate commanders will only respond to couriers only. Also, if I select say a subordinate brigade commander, double click on a location, select a formation upon arrival, use roads, whatever formation the regiments are presently in, they retain that formation for the road march rather than change into road columns.
The sequence of orders is as follows:
1. As a division commander I select a subordinate commander whose command is in line.
2. I select map location and double left click-a courier dispatched from division to subordinate
3. I select a formation, Form Double Line, for arrival at destination- another courier is dispatched
4. I select use roads and the brigade follows the road in line formation.
What am I missing?
Command levels?

Re: Command levels?
Regarding Take Command functions maybe this post will clear some things up, although referring to the Grog Toolbar the same applies to the B&F Toolbar:

Regarding the road march issue maybe you selected a 'hold form' line formation. That's all I can think of since line formations assume column formation when given movement orders regardless of roadmarch or not.
The courier questions I defer to others.

Red Bugler,
Thanks for your prompt reply. I don't quite know what the "hold form formation" must be. I didn't recognize anything like that in your reference source.
As for the couriers, I guess I'll have to get used to them.
Thanks again.
