When will the patch be available to us non-Steam customers?

I think it is already ready, from what they wrote on the matrix forum; did you try to run the matrix auto-updater?

I have redeemed the Steam key via Slitherine, but should I install the game from Steam and uninstall the previous, non-Steam version?

Will I lose all my settings, mods, high scores, etc. if I do that?

Ultimately what is the point of using the Steam as opposed to the Matrix version?

No the two can be on the PC at the same time; they share the same directory in documents\SOWWL where're the settings in sowwl.ini (make a backup of this in any case just to be sure).

You can use the steam version if you want use some of steam overlay functionalities.
