I think I may have figured out my crashes after getting a message about high memory usage. It said lower map and unit settings. Haven't ried that yet, but hope it works for you.

My moneys on the Ch a Ch Garde and Pr Landwehr Cav mod, I've not had a crash since I deselected it.
