Just confirm for me before you do that that you are running in compatibility mode as administrator

I did a re-install of the game same issue. Yes con20or I am running win 7 compatibility mode.

This is very irritating now! I set everything to low no trees pretty much and there is no change in performance at all. It plays the same lag cycle no matter what. Highest setting to lowest no difference.

There is no one responding on the Matrix site except con20or who linked me here. I do not know what to do but am starting to feel annoyed at this.

I'm afraid I'm grasping at straws here. The problems that we can't re-create are almost impossible to troubleshoot. Couple more things you can try, re-download the game (in case the installer is corrupt, not likely though), update your graphics card drivers to the latest. Since you turn off all trees and it still does it, I don't think it's performance related.. Also maybe Crikey will uncover something, since he appears to be having the same problem.
