antietam
while playing antietam i use the north army and every once in a while my regiments run into a single confederate flag with its bearer but no other guys and my units attack it and it just sits there it does not take damage or firer back.soon i have about 10 units shooting at it and nothing happens it messes up the whole game because now my units are drawn to this unit and they stay there attacking it. thank you for any help

Re: antietam
This sounds to me like an overload problem.
With a large OOB, low processing or RAM capacity can cause some units to be missed on each cycle and appear not to be fighting or to behave strangely. Even with quite a powerful computer, I have had this happen from time to time, mostly on large Napoleonic OOB's.
With Antietam this is probably progressive as both Union and Confederate forces build up with new arrivals during the course of the battle and the processing load steadily increases.
