Windows 8 compatibility

So has any one figured out how to run SOW on Windows 8? I have tried all the compatible modes from Windows 8 but nothing seems to work out. I have a hard drive with Windows 7 and it works just fine but my Windows 8 computer and windows 8 hard drive from the other computer does not. It starts fine and then crash's. Ill search around some more and see if some one else has found a solution. Hope some one here has found a solution.

I went and looked in the Technical Help section, roughly sixteen pages but didn't find anything helpful.

I did read that you had it working roughly nine months ago, so what changed on your Computer that has stopped it from working?

I am running it fine under windows 8 (not tried 8.1). I have the latest patch from matrix and installed it nder c:\Games.

Well shame on me. I found out my problem. VIRUS! Fix it and she works just fine.

I've been having exactly the same problem. Used to work on my old computer but no luck on the new laptop running Windows 8. When you say VIRUS what exactly was the issue? A virus related to the relevant files or something else?

Well to tell the truth I ended up with 123 virus's. I download Malwarebytes and it fixed it all. I run 2 computers and the other one had 47 virus's. So files that effected the game were compromised. I don't know which ones, I was just happy it worked .

On the desktop right click the game and choose the compatibility test, it should fix it.
